Why A.I. Free

The AI–Free Organization, consisting of a small group of big-picture thinkers, believes that human connections and experiences surpass code, convenience and the false premise of artificial intelligence. As a social benefit organization, we fight for the preservation of our freedom of choice, advocate human interactions, organic, creative thinking, the merits of real emotions, the values of our culture and real art – all that make us feeling, self-expressing, contextually-thinking humans.

We oppose A.I. not because we oppose technological progress – quite to the contrary. We wish to harness the awesome power of safe, human-controlled technology that can assist us in fulfilling the purposes we create them for. Technology should be a tool and not the purpose, a tool that makes us more effective whether it comes to protecting human rights, advancing sciences, healthcare, finding balance with Nature, or expanding the horizons in the arts, in sports or anywhere in-between.

We believe that the unrestricted use of AI systems results in a negative-sum balance, as they diminish learning, skill-development, creative thinking and critical thinking skills. The short-term “benefits” of AI are sold to to the masses as attractive conveniences and new “capabilities”, while in reality, they make us more technology-reliant and less compassionate creatures. In our tech-dominated world we need more beauty, more social connections, more expression and more humaneness – not technology that is designed to replace our interactions, skills, jobs, even attempt to quantify emotions and damage the culture that humans have built over thousands of years.

Our Mission

The AI-Free Organization exists to be the voice of reason, of human expression, and of human values, with the following agenda:

1.  We expose the corporations and governments that design, build, support, utilize and promote the use of AI systems and tools
2.  We lobby against the misuses, misrepresentations of AI technologies which exist to increase profits and power for selected interest groups and agencies
3.  We highlight use cases of AI technologies that serve as positive examples by improving the individual or collective human condition
4.  We progress our activism against the unjust exploitation of humans via technology, through social awareness campaigns, individual and social advocacy
5.  We grow public awareness about the dangers and long-term net-negative consequences of AI technologies via social campaigns, events, the media & the press

As a social benefit organization, our work is founded by the public and benefit the public. We take no contributions from any government organization or interest group, and the the profits from the sale of our ai-free merchandise, paid talks and media appearances go fully toward funding our work.
